Academy to Honor Glenn Close, Ridley Scott, Floyd Norman, Christine Vachon & Pamela Koffler at the 2026 Governors Awards
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the recipients of its prestigious 2026 Governors Awards, celebrating five influential figures whose contributions have helped shape the landscape of modern filmmaking.
The Academy will present Academy Honorary Awards to acclaimed actress Glenn Close, legendary animator Floyd Norman, and visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott. In addition, producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler will receive the prestigious Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for their outstanding contributions to American independent cinema.
The honorees will be celebrated during the 17th Governors Awards on November 15, 2026, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles, in partnership with Rolex.
