When the final Oscar statuette is handed out on Sunday, March 15, the celebration is just getting started. The 98th Oscars Governors Ball, Hollywood’s most exclusive after-party, returns to the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood, and this year’s event promises to be an unforgettable evening of world-class food, fine wine, and extraordinary cocktails.
Chef Wolfgang Puck, now in his 32nd year helming the Governors Ball kitchen, is pulling out all the stops. Among the standout dishes of the evening is a stunning Salmon en Croûte — fresh Atlantic salmon wrapped in perfectly golden, buttery pastry with fine herbs — a dish as elegant as the occasion itself. And for dessert, guests will be treated to Canelés Bailardran, the famous caramelized custard cakes from the legendary Bordeaux patisserie Bailardran, delivering a warm, delicate bite of pure French tradition to Hollywood’s biggest night.
On the beverage side, Clarendelle & Domaine Clarence Dillon return for their fourth consecutive year as the official wine of the Governors Ball, pouring their celebrated Bordeaux whites and reds from one of France’s most storied wine dynasties. It is a pairing that brings centuries of French winemaking elegance to an evening already dripping in glamour.
And when it comes to cocktails, Tequila Don Julio is raising the bar with two signature drinks created for the night. “Best in Show” features the crisp, smooth notes of Don Julio Blanco, while “The Sequel” spotlights the rich, complex Don Julio 1942 — a fitting name for a night celebrating cinema’s greatest stories.
With roughly 1,500 guests including nominees, winners, and Hollywood’s finest, the 98th Governors Ball is set to be the toast of the town on March 15. Cheers to the movies.
