Spark Something Beautiful: Kate Spade New York Names Tyla Its New Global Brand Ambassador

There’s a particular kind of energy an artist brings when she’s not just having a moment — she’s building a movement. That’s exactly the energy Kate Spade New York is betting on with its newest signing.

Kate Spade New York has named two-time Grammy-winning artist Tyla as its new global brand ambassador, and if you’ve been paying any attention to the singer’s meteoric rise, the pairing feels less like a marketing decision and more like fate catching up to itself.

A Match Rooted in Joy

Tyla is known for her distinctive style, magnetic creativity, and global cultural influence, and the brand says she embodies its ethos by effortlessly bringing together fashion, music, and individuality. The partnership leans into Kate Spade New York’s “Spark Something Beautiful” ethos, rooted in optimism and the idea that joy has the power to spread.

Eva Erdmann, CEO and brand president of Kate Spade New York, described Tyla as someone who radiates everything the brand stands for — joy, optimism, and a confidence that lifts everyone around her — adding that from her music to her personal style, Tyla makes people feel something, and that’s rare. Erdmann framed the timing as especially poignant, noting Tyla is stepping into this partnership at a pivotal moment in her career, with a new album, a new chapter, and the world watching.

The Campaign

The collaboration will unfold across brand campaigns, social content, and in-store advertising, with Tyla making her debut appearance in the label’s fall 2026 global campaign. Creatively, the campaign centers on the idea of joy hiding in plain sight, weaving in nods to Tyla’s sophomore album, A*POP, alongside the brand’s signature sense of play.

Throughout the campaign, Tyla carries the brand’s hero silhouette, the Duo Mini shoulder bag, styled in new seasonal colorways including Beet and Laurel Leaf. The new fall collection lands in Kate Spade New York stores and on katespade.com beginning in August 2026, with additional styles rolling out throughout the season.

The announcement coincided with a celebration alongside Tyla at a PAPER Magazine album launch event in Los Angeles, with the brand promising to share further campaign details later in August.

Why Tyla, Why Now

This isn’t a debut moment for Tyla so much as a coronation. The South African artist won her first Grammy in 2024 for “WATER,” followed by a second win in 2026 for “PUSH 2 START,” with both tracks taking home Best African Music Performance — cementing her status as one of the fastest-rising forces in global music.

Since breaking through internationally with “Water,” Tyla has become a fixture at major fashion events and has built a portfolio of brand collaborations, positioning herself as one of music’s most influential style figures. Her sophomore record, A*POP, dropped just last week to acclaim from fans and critics alike, following a debut era that had already proven her staying power.

For Kate Spade New York, the signing is also a signal of where the brand is headed under Erdmann’s leadership. The house has increasingly centered its campaigns around musicians, creators, and cultural figures as a way of strengthening its connection with younger audiences while doubling down on themes of optimism and self-expression. It’s a strategy that tracks: pair a heritage American accessories label built on color and whimsy with an artist who is, quite literally, having her own technicolor moment.

The Takeaway

The Tyla era of Kate Spade New York arrives at the intersection of two ascending arcs — a brand recommitting to joy as a design language, and an artist whose cultural footprint is only getting louder. Expect the Duo Mini to become the accessory of the season, and expect Tyla’s fingerprints — playful, confident, unmistakably hers — all over how the brand tells its story next.

The fall 2026 collection, including the Duo Mini shoulder bag in Beet and Laurel Leaf, is available beginning August 2026 in Kate Spade New York stores and at Katespade.com
