Indulge in Tipsy Scoop: Rittenhouse’s New Alcohol-Infused Ice Cream Spot

Philadelphia just got a whole lot more delicious. Tipsy Scoop Barlour, the women-owned, New York City-born concept that turned the ice cream world on its head with liquor-infused scoops inspired by classic and contemporary cocktails, has officially made its grand opening debut right in the heart of Rittenhouse Square — and the city is already buzzing.

The new Barlour is nestled inside BOTLD at 119 S. 18th St., a Philadelphia-based spirits boutique that works directly with craft distillers to bring bottles to the city that you simply cannot find anywhere else in Pennsylvania. It is a pairing that makes perfect sense — two elevated, boundary-pushing concepts sharing one very stylish space.

For the uninitiated, Tipsy Scoop is not your grandmother’s ice cream parlor. Every flavor on the menu is crafted with real alcohol, delivering the indulgence of dessert with the sophistication of a well-made cocktail. The result? Pure magic in a cup.

The menu reads like a cocktail list written by your most creative friend, and we are absolutely here for it. The Cake Batter Vodka Martini is creamy, celebratory, and topped with rainbow sprinkles — it tastes exactly like a birthday party with a grown-up twist. The Dark Chocolate Whiskey Salted Caramel is rich and deeply sophisticated, finished with a silky caramel drizzle that makes it an instant classic. The Soft Serve Margarita arrives bright and refreshing, garnished with a dried citrus wheel and a fresh flower — summer in a cup, served year-round. And then there is the Birdz Blitz, a loaded, layered sundae that is completely over the top in the best possible way. Just to name a few.

It is the kind of place where you walk in for one scoop and leave planning your next visit before you have even finished the first.

Tipsy Scoop Barlour is now open at 119 S. 18th St. in Rittenhouse. Must be 21+ to indulge. And if you fall in love — and trust us, you will — Tipsy Scoop has locations across the country including New York City, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Nashville, Portland, and the Bahamas, with even more cities on the way. Philadelphia is just the latest city to get a taste, and we have a feeling it will not be the last. Visit tipsyscoop.com to explore.
