Meet beek, the handcrafted leather footwear brand blending arch support, artisan craftsmanship, and timeless style

beek: Where Comfort Meets Beauty

Some shoes ask you to suffer for style. beek doesn’t. This handcrafted leather footwear brand started with a simple belief: a sandal can be beautiful, feminine, and comfortable all at once.

The story begins in March 2014, when Birgit Klett and Kenna Florie were catching up over a glass of wine. The two met years earlier at Roxy, where Birgit led global footwear design and Kenna led marketing. Birgit has designed shoes for more than 26 years for names like Kenneth Cole and Sam Edelman. Even with that résumé, she and Kenna couldn’t find a leather sandal that checked every box, so they made their own.

The name tells the story, too. It’s a play on both founders’ names, and two birds sit at the heart of the brand’s look. It’s a small detail, and it reflects a friendship that turned into a business.

Crafted to last

Every pair is designed in California and handmade by artisans in Guadalajara, Mexico. The sandals go through a 48-hour process that molds the sole for support, and a built-in arch means comfort from the first wear. The leather softens and settles with age, so each pair becomes yours over time.

That’s the point. Kenna has called the brand a rebellion against fast fashion. beek makes shoes you keep for years, not one season.

Growing up, not out

What began with sandals now includes sneakers in soft vegetable-tanned leather, with the same arch support and the same ease. You’ll find beek at Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Shopbop, Revolve, and more than 50 boutiques across the country.

Giving back

For every pair sold, beek donates the equivalent of five meals to a child in need through Second Harvest Food Bank. Your shoes do good while you walk.

The LUSH take

beek is the kind of brand we believe in: well made, honestly priced for the craft, and built on a real story. This is Beauty IS the Now at your feet. Pair them with a linen set in summer, or a tailored trouser and a fall coat. They’ll look just as good. www.beekshop.com
